Colour Analysis

What is Colour Analysis?

Colour analysis is a process that helps identify the most flattering colours for an individual based on their natural features, such as skin tone, eye colour, and hair colour. The goal is to determine which colours harmonise with a person’s natural colouring to enhance their appearance, making them look more vibrant, youthful, and balanced.

Through colour analysis, individuals are categorised into one of four colour seasons â€“ Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter – each of which has its own unique palette of colours that best suit their undertones. By understanding your personal colour season and the shades that work best for you, you can make informed choices about your hair colour, makeup, clothing, and accessories, creating a cohesive and flattering look that enhances your natural beauty.

I thought you were just a curl specialist?

As a professional curly hair specialist, I’m passionate about helping my clients not only look their best but also feel their best through the power of colour. While I’ve always been dedicated to perfecting my hairdressing techniques, I’ve also trained extensively in colour analysis, which allows me to take a more personalised and holistic approach to your colour needs.

Through colour analysis, I’m able to help you uncover the tones that naturally flatter your complexion, eyes, and hair, whether you're looking for the perfect shades for your next colour treatment or simply want to understand your personal colour season and how to wear it.

Your Colour Season – Finding the Palette That Suits You Best

Colour analysis isn’t just for your hair – it can help you find the shades that bring out the best in you overall. By identifying your colour season, either Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter, we can uncover the hues that align with your natural characteristics and bring balance to your look.

Each season has its own unique set of colours that complement specific undertones, and understanding your season can be a total game-changer. For example:

- Spring: Warm, clear colours like corals, peaches, and soft golden yellows

- Summer: Cool, muted colours like soft pastels, lavender, and dusty rose

- Autumn: Rich, earthy tones like rust, olive, and mustard

- Winter: Cool, deep tones like sapphire, emerald, and pure white

By understanding your colour season, I can recommend a hair, clothing, jewellery, make up and accessory colour palette that complements your natural features and harmonises with all of you. You’ll leave with a seasonal palette that works perfectly for you.

Top Benefits of a Colour Analysis

- Save yourself some money - This has to be one of the biggest plus' of having a colour analysis consultation. You no longer have to waste money on clothes that dont suit you, we all have those outfits with the tags still on and we just cant put our finger on why we don't want to wear them... Save wasting money by being absolutely certain the colours your choosing is perfectly suited to your features.

Save yourself some time - This is definitely up there with the best benefit to knowing your own seasonal palette. How often have you walked into a clothes shop and felt overwhelmed by all of the colour choices? I'm sure more times that you can count on both hands. Knowing your palette gives you confidence to bypass all of the items that you KNOW are not in your colour season and allows you time to focus on the items that are within your season.

- Growing confidence - I remember coming out of my first colour analysis appointment after being told bright red lips would suit me, heading straight to MAC to buy ruby woo, a bright red, matte lipstick. I wore it right away and walked around Westfields and I felt unstoppable. The compliments flowed in and I still get compliments now. This could be you, wearing the colours that are just made for you, knowing full well, you look a million dollars.

- Capsule wardrobe - By selecting items that are within your colour palette, you're automatically making an effortless start in creating a wardrobe that all harmonises, not just with you and your features but with each other.
